Stir, Splatter + Roll is a fun and creative departure from New York’s usual benefit and gala circuit created and hosted by our amazing friends at Publicolor. Alarmed by the ramifications of our nation’s rising high school dropout rate, industrial designer Ruth Lande Shuman founded Publicolor in 1996 when she realized that too many of our schools look and feel like prisons—a condition contributing to our all-too-high dropout rate—Ruth created Publicolor to use the power of color, collaboration, design, and the discipline of commercial painting to engage high-risk students in their education and create a better trained and educated workforce for our future.
The event, which is held at Martin Luther King, Jr. High School, just behind Lincoln Center, transforms the school’s gym and hallways through the vibrant work of the Publicolor staff, students and volunteers. The evening began with colorful IZZE cocktails and collaborative painting, where guests and students joined a spectacular group of Team Leaders, including Michael Kors, Nicole Miller, Christo, Ed Schlossberg Jonathan Marvel + Rob Rogers, Jeffrey Banks, Vicente Wolf, and Gael Towey, Creative Director at Martha Stewart Living Omni-media. Together, each group created an original design on canvas which was then offered at a silent auction at the end of the evening. One hundred percent of money raised supports Publicolor’s scholarship fund. The scholarship fund helps to empower students to reach their full potential in college through a continuum of design-based programs and academic support that help counter the drop-out rate.
IZZE would like to join Publicolor in thanks to the 400+ supporters who joined us at Stir, Splatter and Roll this year. Thanks to your generosity, the event raised $95,000 for the S,S+R scholarship fund and over $700,000 for other relevant Publicolor programs. Be sure to check out their website – www.publicolor.org to find out more about their programs or to make a donation today. Of course you can always follow IZZE on twitter or friend us on facebook to find out about all of the exciting events we have going on in your area.

Last week, we headed back to downtown LA to help celebrate the Spring Launch with our friends at 722 Figueroa. 722 is a fashion pr/marketing agency with some great brands and some amazing people. We have partnered up with 722 for many years now, and this was by far our biggest party yet. The line was down the street with a full guest list consisting of buyers, press, bloggers, stylists, tastemakers, friends, and family. The DJ’s — Partytime and Mark Marcelo — spun beats inside the showroom while guests browsed the newest lines. Meanwhile, Capital Cities wowed the crowd with an electrifying live performance in the courtyard. And to no surprise, the bar was packed all night! We co-hosted the bar with our friends at Bushmills and kept the drinks free-flowing all evening. Always the hit, Tommy B’s iPad-interactive photobooth was a non-stop attraction for the attendees. See full photos at TheTommyB.com. Here are some of our favorites of the night!

IZZE Sparkling Juice was on the scene once again as many of New York City’s finest athletes, musicians, actors and general ‘do-gooders’, (WHO LOVE POKER!) came together for the Poker4Life Tournament. This year’s tournament attracted over 300 players at 30 tables and hundreds of others who wanted to bid on the awesome auction items, enjoy the delicious food and drinks provided by generous sponsors and take in all of the action! The event, which just celebrated it’s 8th year on March 29, 2012, was founded by Ethan Ruby and Jeremy Schwartz in 2005. Poker4Life was formed to harness The Positive Power of Poker by hosting charity poker tournaments to benefit all non-profit organizations. Their mission is to provide a forum for professional, celebrity and everyday poker players to come together and support causes they believe in while playing a game they enjoy. Over the last eight years they have raised over $1,500,000. Their charity of choice thus far has been The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis, which maintains an unprecedented 86 cents of every dollar going directly to research. There are approximately 1.4 million 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations in the U.S. with whom we are actively forming relationships. IZZE Sparkling Juice is proud to join in their aim to help raise money for those in need through the great game of poker.
IZZE was thrilled to join Poker4Life again this year and we were excited to see many returning sponsors too. We partnered up with Zyr Vodka and Bulldog Gin to provide delicious IZZE cocktails for guests as well as yummy IZZE fruit mocktails for those who chose a lighter option. It was so exciting to watch Tiki Barber of the NFL fame and David Lee of NBA fame playing for this awesome charity. Please be sure to check out www.poker4life.org and www.buonicontifund.com to find out more about what these organizations are doing in your area. Be sure to check into the IZZE blog, our Facebook page and of course follow IZZE on twitter to see what we will be up to next! (Don’t forget to check out some of our favorite pics from the night too!)

Last week, IZZE was on hand for the unveiling of round two of Gibson GuitarTown held on The Sunset Strip. This new round of guitars features work by renowned local and national artists, including Shepard Fairey, Tristan Eaton and fellow street artists DeeKay, Free Humanity and Smog City. The guitars celebrate a range of musicians who have influenced The Sunset Strip, including Buffalo Springfield, T-Rex, Jane’s Addiction, Rage Against The Machine and Van Halen, among others.
The initial nine 10-foot tall art guitars will be on display along The Sunset Strip through November. After their time The Strip, the guitars will be auctioned for charity. An additional 15 guitars are planned for the spring.
GuitarTown on The Sunset Strip is a very cool public art display. The exhibit provides a unique walking tour of the boulevard while celebrating The Sunset Strip’s rich musical legacy. Here are some pics from the event!

Last week, IZZE headed south to Coronado Island to the Hotel Del Coronado to partner up for a fun wedding photo shoot and cocktail party. As many of you know, IZZE and weddings go together wonderfully. The hotel just completed some beautiful renovations and wanted to showcase all the possibilities that were now available. For this fantastic evening, IZZE helped dress up all the tables with colorful place settings and also created three specialty cocktails for guests to enjoy. Guests traveled from different rooms, experiencing all the different options the hotel had to offer for a possible wedding or special occasion. The evening was a hit and everything looked amazing. Big thanks to our friends at YourBASH for inviting us! Here are some of my favorite pics.

The New York Fashion Week (NYFW), is a citywide fashion event, anchored by Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center, showcasing the runway collections of many of the world’s top designers. NYFW includes over 250 fashion events throughout the City, and occurs semiannually every September and February, highlighting fashion trends for the following spring and fall, respectively. NYFW kicks off international Fashion Weeks, with London, Milan, and Paris following New York.
IZZE Sparkling Juice was thrilled to sponsor over 25 events at this past February’s Fall/Winter 2012 NYFW. Hosting larger-scale events at Lincoln Center at the Metroploiltan Pavilion as well as smaller, boutique style events at The Standard Hotel and the Helen Mills Performance Space, IZZE found themselves with their finger on the pulse at some of the most interesting and relevant shows of the season.
IZZE would like to extend special thanks to our friends at Seventh House PR and Showroom 7 who we partnered with for the beautiful runway shows of Charlotte Ronson, Erickson Beamon and Katie Gallagher to name a few. We’d also like to thank a-list communications for inviting us to join them at The Metropolitan Pavillion for the Style 360 Shows of Malan Breton, Emu Australia and SACHIKA. A final and huge thank-you goes out to the team at Select New York, who we teamed up with for the shows of Leanne Marshall and Anna Francesca. All of the collections were amazing and we expect to see many of the styles they created on many of our trend-setting IZZE fans this fall.
