IZZE hits the beach for the FDNY’s 20th Annual Lt. Williams Memorial Volleyball Tournament

June 14, 2011

IZZE NYC was honored to join the Fire Department of NY again this year in Long Beach for their 20th Annual Volleyball Tournament in honor of Lieutenant Williams. Lt. Williams died in the line of duty and the tournament helps to raise money for the families of firemen who have given their lives saving others. Over 1000 firemen competed on 20 teams throughout the day, and thousands more came to watch and support the festivities. The FDNY raised over $35,000 and the event continues to be their greatest fund-raising effort of the year. This year’s tournament was held in special honor of firefighter Billy Quick who passed earlier this year due to complications from illness developed from his efforts at Ground Zero. FF Billy Quick was the founder of the Volleyball Tournament and his contributions were an inspiration to everyone who knew him. IZZE is proud to support this event and we were thrilled that so many of the Bravest were refreshed by our delicious juices.
