Halloween is just a couple days away!

October 28, 2010

Halloween is one of our favorite holidays here at IZZE. We love the costumes, the treats and especially the parties. You know what is the perfect beverage for Halloween parties? IZZE of course. Here’s a tip…Sparkling Pomegranate is the perfect mixer for some deliciously bloody cocktails. We will be testing some of those cocktails out at a variety of events across the country. Here are a couple from NYC.

IZZE NYC will be sponsoring an event on Friday the 29th to support school arts programs. Alicia Goranson (Of Roseanne fame) will guest bartend at Mini Bar in Brooklyn from 8pm-2am. Bring unused art supplies for a free IZZE cocktail. Jos-L will be showing his work. Raffles and goodies all evening.

IZZE will also be sponsoring MASKARAVE. Featuring Supa DJ Dmitry of Dee-Lite, Frankie Bones and many others. Wear a costume for a free IZZE. (secret location to be announced on Friday. (I will also twitter the locale) 10pm-4am

IZZE will also sponsor the Annual Brooklyn Kids Halloween Parade. Starting at Cobble Hill Park on Congress and Clinton Streets and ending in Carroll Park on Court and Carroll Streets. 12pm-4pm.

Remember be safe! If you decide to dress like us for Halloween, be a good friend and send in your pic, like our friends below. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

IZZE celebrates the ‘Locks for Love’ organization on their latest endeavour in NYC!

October 23, 2010

Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. Locks for Love meets a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses they provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.

IZZE Sparkling Juice joined the staff at Senses Salon on 5th Avenue in NYC on Wednesday, October 20th in support of Locks for Love. Over a dozen women and one man generously donated 10 inches of their hair to this fantastic cause.  The carnival themed party also helped to raise over 20,000 for the organization with raffles, a silent auction and tons of fun activities. Of course the IZZE Sparkling Juice was flowing! We are so proud of everyone that contributed and honored to have been able to do our part!

Last week, we were lucky enough to continue our partnership with our friends at The Original Penguin store here in LA for their 4 year anniversary party. Hosted by E! celebrity Michael Yo, featuring delicious cocktails created by IZZE and PAMA, guests spent their evening trying on cool clothes, grooving to sweet tunes and sipping on tasty cocktails. We had an amazing time and are really looking forward to our next event with them. Here are some pics from the evening. Do yourself a favor and check out the Original Penguin store near you!

IZZE Sparkling Juice sets out to ‘Make Strides Against Breast Cancer’ at the October 17th Annual Fundraising Walks

October 13, 2010

In 1984, Massachusetts cancer survivor Margery “Margie” Gould Rath wanted to find a way to celebrate fellow cancer survivors by raising funds for the American Cancer Society. Working with a committee of fellow cancer survivors and other volunteers, she created a “move-along-a-thon” called Making Strides Against Cancer to bring people of all abilities together in an event to move the fight against cancer forward. The first event, held in Boston, drew 200 participants and became a yearly event in the city.

In September 1993, the event officially became known as the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, attracting 5,000 walkers at events in NYC, Boston and Manchester, New Hampshire. Since then, Margie’s vision has inspired nearly 6 million walkers to participate in Making Strides events in more than 145 communities across the country, raising more than $400 million to fight breast cancer. Margie remained a dedicated volunteer for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer program until she ultimately lost her battle with cancer in 2001.

Margie’s legacy lives on, reminding us each and every year that we can all do our part to save lives and create a world with less cancer and more birthdays! IZZE Sparkling Juice is proud to sponsor both of the ACS ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’ Walks that will be held in NYC this Sunday, October 17th. Please join us in either Central Park, Manhattan or Prospect Park, Brooklyn and lend your support to this amazing fund-raising effort! IZZE goes green at the NEW NY GreenHome ‘Green Streets’ Block Party

October 5, 2010

The NEW New York is GreenHomeNYC’s revolutionary interpretation of the typical New York block party. Street fairs and block parties are an intrinsic part of the New York City summer experience, bringing neighborhoods together, culture to the streets, celebrations and joy to the public spaces of our city. The NEW New York has re-invented this tradition to bring home — right to the front stoop — with ideas for greening our built environment for the residents of the city. IZZE Sparkling Juice was on hand to refresh the crowds and give back to a community that is working to be more conscious of the environment and create a sustainable way of life!

A core component of the event was to use the street-scape and surroundings as a “classroom.” In addition to leaving behind a block transformed with examples of a greener city, such as a newly planted tree, the fair’s events tied into the immediate environs of the neighborhood. The day’s activities were multifaceted, incorporating educational workshops covering a wide array of topics, hands-on demonstrations by exhibitors, and included tours of green buildings, companies, and local natural resources. The interactive booths captivated everyone on the green spectrum from curious to committed, including youth.

The event will take place annually each autumn and occupy one street block. IZZE Sparkling Juice thanks the residents of Carroll Gardens, BK for hosting the first of these amazing events. If you are interested in having the NEW New York GreenHome Block party in your neighborhood please check out http://greenhomenyc.org/the-new-new-york for more information. As always you can follow the IZZE TASTE AGENTS on twitter and IZZE on Facebook to find out what interesting and earth-friendly events we have going on in your area!
